The CWU have always been at the forefront of campaigns for better standards on Health & Safety. It is a proven fact that better standards of Health & Safety are achieved in Unionised workplaces. In fact serious injury rates are cut by more than half when Union Safety Representatives (USRs) are actively involved and consulted by employers and safety professionals.
Tracy Buckley, Branch Secretary, has overall responsibility for organising the Branch’s USRs. USRs are ordinary members who are interested in the health, safety and welfare of their colleagues in the workplace. We give them full training and have a network of USRs throughout the Branch who carry out a vital role in improving standards for their colleagues.
