Dear Colleague
Steria Pay 2009
Members will recall that Steria announced in March 2009 that they were unable to table a pay increase from April 2009 based on the current economic and business environment.
They did however agree to review the situation in July.
We met with Senior Management on the 17 June 2009 and discussed a range of issues, including pay. We were advised that the company were considering ways in which they may be able to consider some form of payment within this pay year.
Members working in Steria will by now have been advised that whilst business trading conditions remain challenging the company have determined that if the performance in the second half of the year is maintained and the company hits its full year end profit targets that in recognition of the staff effort they are planning to award a one off bonus payment of 1.5% of annual base salary. Should this happen it is anticipated this would be paid in February 2010 salaries.
Whilst the CWU still remain disappointed that no consolidated pay increase is forthcoming it is nevertheless a movement that we welcome.
I will of course be looking to meet with the company on a regular basis to review company performance and will report any further developments.
Any queries should be addressed to Dave Johnson, Assistant Secretary, at djohnson@cwu.org.
Yours sincerely
Dave Johnson Assistant Secretary
